Lions are some of the creatures that were generally found in abundance in ancient Asia. However, according to the ancient Asian folks, the lions originating from the northern parts and lions originating from the southern region of the continent were all different in terms of characteristics.
In turn, when the lions were being assigned special symbolic powers, the lions originating from the north were given their own symbolic powers distinct from those given to lions originating from the southern region.
